April 29, 2008: Electrical Maintenance Postponed until Sunday, May 4 at 10 a.m.
As stated earlier, this will affect nearly all computing services, including network logons, email, internet connectivity, network storage, remote access, and any server hosted applications. Since network storage, logons and printing will all be unavailable during this time, the 2nd floor lab will be shut down for that time period as well. This downtime is expected to last 90 minutes. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask all Juilliard community members to plan accordingly.
March 20, 2008: E-mail System Maintenance
We will be applying some patches to the e-mail system this evening beginning at 6pm. This may involve some periods where the server is inaccessible. We apologize for any inconvenience.
January 30, 2008 : ResNet Service Restored - Please Read!!!
The resnet network has been restored after an earlier outage. The problem today was caused by a student plugging a network cable from one port to another in their suite. Please do not do this!!! It will cause the network to crash, requiring us to locate the source of the problem and cause prolonged downtime for all users on the network.
Also, never plug any devices into more than one wall port at any given time. This is the reason switches, hubs, and routers are not allowed, as stated in the resnet usage policy. If you don't know what you're doing, you will harm the network, and everyone will be affected. Resnet is a community resource - respect your suite, floor and dorm mates, and follow the rules!
